Our mission at D.R.E.A.M. Inc is very simple; we want to empower urban youth to make informed professional, social, & financial decisions.
We are extremely excited about the work we have done towards this mission in the past and the bright future ahead of D.R.E.A.M. Inc. We look forward to working with other organizations, colleges, universities, churches, schools, and individuals who relate and support this mission.
Meet the Founder:
D.R.E.A.M. Inc (Dispelling Realities and Empowering African-American Minds) is the brainchild of Orane Williams, a real estate investor who was born in Newark, New Jersey and raised in Union, New Jersey. Like many young people today, Orane did not grow up learning about money management. He simply observed the financial choices of his parents and followed suit. Although they helped him establish good credit, he realized he needed to study financial literacy on his own to gain an understanding of the way money works. Orane picked up Robert Kiyosoki’s book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” and the rest is history. “That book truly changed my life.” Orane started D.R.E.A.M. Inc in 2006 and decided to “share the wealth.”
Orane began creating seminars for young people based on financial basics, understanding credit, and managing money after college. “Kids are not being taught about money in school, and I felt I could fill that void. Anyone can make it if they know how to use money as a tool.” He’s held sessions for several youth organizations at Newark Public Library, William Paterson University, and Essex County College.
As D.R.E.A.M. Inc grows, he also continues to make strides in his own professional
and economic development. At the age of 23, Orane purchased his first home, a major accomplishment for any individual. But instead of moving into the house, he decided to refurbish the property and put it back on the market. He currently invests in real estate part-time, while pursuing several other entrepreneurial ventures.
In addition to doing real estate, Orane is very interested in opening his own restaurant and lounge. He encourages students to think outside of the box, and turn their talents and skills into profitable business. Money is power and Orane wants young people to be equipped with the tools they need to be successful in life.
Orane is the graduate of William Paterson University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management. Orane is a mentor with IMentor in NYC. He is also a member of the National Real Estate Investors Association, and has participated in the NJIT (New Jersey Institute of Technology) Economic Development Center’s Prudential Entrepreneur Program and the DoSomething.com Non-Profit Boot Camp.
